It's been a while...Sorry.

Well it sure has been a wile and I do apologize for that. We have had a lot going on that I could have been blogging about but I just didn't feel up to it. Where to begin...I'm sure most of you know by now that we have moved back to Lubbock!! Woo Hoo. Shawn's job is going great and he is really enjoying it. I actually start my new job on Monday up at Tech! I'm excited and hope that it goes well.

Our nephew, Brenden, is growing so fast! He is absolutely adorable...I don't know who loves him more, me or Shawn! I love seeing Shawn with Brenden; it makes me realize how lucky our children are going to be. He will be a great dad someday. Here is just one picture of the growing boy himself. I have plenty more...I just haven't uploaded them.

Well, I thought that I would have more to say since it has been about 3 months since my last posting. I WILL be better about that!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Brenden Hearrell Roberson

He's here!! My sister and Daniel welcomed their sweet son Brenden Hearrell Roberson into the world at 2:57 on Sept. 4th. He weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds 2 ounces. Both he and Randa are doing very well. I only have a few pictures of the little man, but will post more when I actually get to meet him.

Texas Bound!!

That's right!! We are moving back to Texas! Shawn was offered a job in Plainview that we just couldn't pass up. It might not be Lubbock but we certainly are not going to complain. We asked God to provide us with an opportunity to get back home and that is exactly what He did. Friends, the power of prayer is so amazing. Whenever you have a fear or a concern just lay it all out to God and He WILL listen. He will eventually provide for you in ways that you never imagined. Shawn and I have been so blessed in our marriage so far. When we have a worry or fear we pray and ask God to be the third person in our marriage so that we can have His help in all that we do. We have never been let down. We would like to thank all of you who kept us in your prayers. They were certainly felt.

**I wish that I could keep going with all of the news with Shawn and I but I got a call today from a friend of mine informing me on the death of one of my friends from junior high. Needless to say my mind is a little blocked. Latosha Murray was a dear friend of mine back when I went to Idalou; although I haven't talked to her since High School, I am still haunted by this news. She had a young daughter I believe to be around the age of 3. I can't help but think about the fact that this sweet and innocent girl will no longer get to see her mommy. There has been an account set up for her daughter, Avery, at City Bank and I encourage you to donate what you can to help her family...even though you may not know her. This is such a tragic thing and I wish that there was more that I could. As of right now all I feel that I can do is pray. I ask you, too, to take the time to say a little prayer for Latosha's mom, dad, and daughter.**

Our Arkansas Adventure Begins...Sorda

Well here we are!! Sorry this has taken so long for all of you who have been waiting on it! A lot has been going on, so Shawn and I thought that now would be a great time to start up our blog. Where to begin...I could start back in January of this year when Shawn moved to Arkansas and I stayed back in Texas to finish school, but that seems so long ago and I really don't want to think back on that. How about the good news!! We made it!! 5 months apart from each other and we had only been married for 6 months! Fortunately for us the time flew by and the next thing you know we are back in Lubbock this past weekend for my COLLEGE graduation.

Let me tell you, that is such a sense of accomplishment! I am so proud of both myself and my sweet husband for sticking through the hard times and getting our degrees. It has already paid off. Although, being in the "real world" is not what we expected. We thought that we wanted to get out of Lubbock and move away so that we can finally do things our way. We thought that it would all be so easy; that Shawn's job would be what we had been waiting for and that I would find a great job as well. Well, a month after I got here we had a change of heart. We began to realize who and what we had back home. Our friends and family all of the sudden meant so much more to us. I feel awful saying that...but you truly do not realize how much your loved ones mean to you until you are away from them. This was really tough on both of us seeing that neither of us had ever lived outside of Lubbock...well Texas for that matter.

We began to pray that God would somehow lead us back to the place that we loved. We honestly didn't care how we got there...we just wanted to get back. Well much to our surprise God had a great opportunity lined up for Shawn this past weekend while we were in Lubbock. Shawn had an interview that sounds extremely promising. But almost to good to be true. Could we get back to Lubbock so quickly?? We sure hope so! We won't hear back from this company for about another week. This is where you...yes you...fit into our story. We KNOW that you guys want us back just as much as we want to get back...haha just kidding. But seriously, this is a very confusing time for us and we would appreciate it if you guys kept us in your prayers.

I have a lot more that I can say...but I'm going to make you wait for another post. This one is long enough. We hope you guys enjoyed our very first blog and I (Jamie) promise to keep it updated as much as I possibly can. I will also keep you updated on our journey back home.
